Silk Empire

The Silk Empire lampshade is one of the oldest lampshade designs, and can be considered the “workhorse” of all lampshade styles. As originally conceived, the Silk Empire lampshade is designed such that the top diameter of the lampshade is about ½ of the diameter of the bottom of the lampshade. Further, the frame of the Silk Empire shade is built with straight, narrow vertical rods connecting the top ring of the lampshade to the bottom ring of the shade. Silk Empire lampshades are often the “go-to” lampshade style selected for a wide variety of table, desk, accent, buffet and floor lamps.
